This weekend, on April 29th from 6 pm to 10:30 pm, held within the Conference Room of the Student Union East, GCSC’s PRIDE Club as a celebration for the end of the semester held a masquerade ball, based in the middle ages.

This event, as shown above, was sponsored by multiple groups from within the college, from the TTRPG Club and Asian Heritage Club, to even a club from the FSU Pride Club.  Did you miss out, and miss the chance to attend the event? No worries, here’s your coverage for it.

For an event hosted by Pride Club, it was truly an event fitting for them. It was a heartfelt event, and while it did not seem to have the turnout that was expected, despite the event being open to the public, they had two photographers for documenting the event and to be there in case anyone wanted to use the wall they had for doing portraits. In the beginning of the event, the club advisor Pelligrino held a red carpet event, showcasing those who were there, giving them a spotlight and a chance to display their wonderful outfits. Throughout the night, they had a timeline planned. From dancing, conga lines and soul trains to let everyone strut themselves and show off their dance moves. They had a coronation event, in which from a vote held from within the club to see who would sit on the “Royal Court”, to a heartfelt speech from the Club’s President Jade.

Beyond the information shown in this clip, it was also announced that after this semester that they will be officially stepping down from being the club’s president. As one of the founding members, along with one of the longest standing President’s for the club, this spells a long coming wave of change for the club. But with the joy and dare I say pride that was viewed and expressed from the club members, even with the current political climate in Florida, this club aims to be here for a long time to come.

Are you curious what it would be like to join the club? Would like to participate and attend a club meeting? They currently have their meetings every Wednesday, from 3-4pm. They meet in room 135 in the Rosenwald Building, though this information is subject to change.
