Anime Fans

Anime fans are some of the most enthusiastic fans of all and most of them are not shy to show it. Through time and technological advancement, the fans have found many ways to show their love for their favorite shows and character. Fandoms of anime are talented in any art form such as cosplay, fanarts, edits, fanfictions and more. They even made their own term for how they made music videos with scenes from an anime, which they call AMVs (Anime Music Videos). At the beginning of this beat story I have put my own AMV, I made it from clips from the most well-known anime of the time, Attack on Titan, which I paired with music from Tame Impala’s New Person, Same Old Mistakes. Fans have made at least millions of AMVs on YouTube, so much so that there are accounts that are solo about the best AMVs. That is on YouTube alone, there are many more on other platforms like Tik Tok and Instagram and ranging from all kinds of animes. From the 2000’s to the present, with the help of streaming services, it made it easier for fans to have access to animes and freedoms to create art from this artform.

My AMV Video

The reason this video was important for this beat story was because it would show how resolute and passionate fans are for their favorite animes, so much so that they would make art from them. For instance, in the video that I made at the top, I wanted to portray the possible emotions that the main character, Eren Yeager, could have been feeling through the show with the words that were being sung throughout the song. I made it to where the very beginning and ending of the video correlates to the beginning and ending of Erens’ life story, to demonstrate that Eren was becoming a new person, someone that he did not like and wanted to end which is why he let certain things take place to end his story.

Why?

Now you may be asking why fans take so much time and effort to make these videos or artworks? The answer is simple; fans love to show their appreciation for the show and the author; it is also a way for fans to show other fans their ideas or biases in the artform. There are countless fans that have theories of what is happening in certain shows and there are some fans that may have information that they can share about what has happened in the anime. For example, there are lots of Japanese fans that are fluent in English but know that sometimes the translations are not the same or makes no sense to people that are not of their culture, so they explain it to the best of their abilities through posts or comics. There are even some sites that have fan-subbers that translate and make the subtitles for animes, which adds on to the dedication fans have for their shows because they feel like they must fix it. Overall, the fans will do anything and all to show their appreciation and love for the anime shows they are obsessed with too where even just a few hours of editing or sewing would not stop them from being with the community.
