The Student Veteran Association at Gulf Coast State College is a student-led organization that aims to provide a supportive community and resources for veterans, active-duty military members and even their families. The military/veteran resource center once had a designated meeting space in the Student Union East room 62. According to the Gulf Coast website, it was open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00 pm and on Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This location has recently closed but a new location will soon be opening to soon.

The new location, once a radio station for the campus. “After the WKGC found a new home in the Charles Hamilton Center, the building remain vacant for about a year and a half,” said David Jantzen. Now retired Gulf Coast President, Dr. Holdnack decided to make the building the new location of the military/veteran resource center. The ground was broken in May of 2018, where the mayor of the city was present along with Admirals and Generals from the military. However, it took damaged during hurricane Michael in October 2018.

After working with contactors for about two year, a company from Dothan, Alabama redesigned the new building. While there was an open house on February 17 of this year, the building is not open to active military and veterans. With contractors finish construction jobs like new carpets, A/C unit and welding projects, its expected the new center will be opening sooner than later.
