What are the student Dorms?

Opened in August of 2021 the dormitories for Gulf Coast State College and FSU Panama City called Seminole Landing Across the street by the water. Located at 5000 N Bay Dr, Panama City, FL. This “Resort like living” offers many ways for students to room with other students and be closer to their education. Offering Fully furnished apartments along with your choice to pick a roommate whether you decide to live with a friend, person of the opposite gender, or even a significant other (after signing the correct forms).

How can I live there?

Costing around $800 a month (significantly less than renting an apartment elsewhere) Seminole Landing requires you to be a student of either Gulf Coast State College or FSU Panama City. Only Requiring 3 credit hours to live there making it easily accessible for students taking few classes and working jobs while providing a nice and clean space to live and make friends with other students. Students can freely leave anytime to go out and not have to worry about not being let back in except if they’re outside after 10 pm which is “quite time” you will be required to use a Key Card that’s given to the residents.

What amenities are offered?

After talking to a Female student/Renter named Carolina Boatright in the dorms, She explained that Seminole Landing offers Vending Machines with snacks and occasional snacks in the lobbies. While not offering full meals on site there is a good range of Fast food and Restaurants in the surrounding area. Caroline further explained that there is a pool behind the building overlooking the water with a projector screen and multiple study rooms scattered around the building allowing students a quiet place to study and do their work. I asked her how long it takes to get to class from the student dorms? she said “I leave 5 minutes before class and walk” perfect for the student who wakes up late

Is it worth it?

With Seminole Landing being Significantly cheaper then renting a studio apartment in the surrounding areas which can cause as little as S1,200 to even $1,500 for a single room. While offering fully furnished Rooms and a fully working kitchen. Students each get their own room and have a shared living room so you can still have your privacy while still enjoying the company of a roommate and Study rooms, Along with a short walk to either campuses. I would say yes is is worth moving into the student dorms if you want a cheap and close place to live by college.
