Welcome to the Weekend!

So you have finally used the tips and tricks from the previous articles in order to complete your work. Now you get to celebrate your weekend without having to worry about catching up! Now the question is, where is there to go around Panama City? Luckily, there are a few options for entertainment and relaxation in the area. Here are a few:

Let’s Go to the Movies!

PC Cinemas (The Mall) & The Grand (Pier Park)

One of the places I go the most is to the movies. It is easy to get a group of friends together and go to one of the local theaters. Making your theater decision depends on how you want your experience. If you are looking for a more “college-friendly” price, I recommend PC Cinemas. However, if you are looking for a bigger, louder experience, a trip to the beachside may be worth it!

Local Food Options

El Weirdo (Downtown)

This new taco joint opened in early 2023. There are multiple options for exotic Mexican food along with weird, trendy scenery. There also is an outside dining area that welcomes conversation and hospitality as you eat along the bright colorful paintings on the wall!

Slice House (Downtown & St. Andrews)

This pizza place is known for its various amounts of slices. The retro scenery and nostalgic setting allow customers to feel like they’re in their favorite 80s film. There are two locations. One location is right next to Bay High School on Harrison Drive and the other is in St. Andrews!

Amavida Coffee Shop (St. Andrews)

Looking for a place to study? Amavida may be where you should go! This coffee shop is known for its welcoming atmosphere which allows students to study as long as they need. This coffee shop is located right down the street from Slice House in St. Andrews!

The Press (Downtown)

Not looking to travel all the way to St. Andrews for coffee? Look no further than The Press. This downtown coffee shop serves fresh brews and breakfast options. As a student, I have gone there many times and I definitely recommend it.

The Best Part of Bay County!

People typically associate Panama City with the fact that they have the prettiest beaches in the world. Luckily there are many beach accesses on the beachside of town. The most popular of which is Pier Park (which was listed earlier). Pier Park is notorious for being the place where you can relax by the shore and then grab a bite to eat afterward. One of the pros about the beach is that it is FREE FREE FREE. So, take advantage of the beautiful scenery that your college town has to offer!
