Today, the GCSC Financial Aid Office sent out emails to students who have qualified for financial assistance due to COVID-19. This is not the first time either, GCSC disbursed financial relief to students earlier this year for the same reason. All of this comes from the federal American Rescue Plan of 2021, which included over $1.9 trillion to be distributed across the country to counteract the economic and public health damage caused by COVID. Of that $1.9 trillion, Education & Childcare received $211 billion, and that was split up by state, county, population, and all kinds of complicated metrics to determine how much money each school receives. The schools then divide up the relief fund to the students based on how much need-based financial aid the student has already received. So make sure to double-check your student and personal email for anything from the Financial Aid Office or from BankMobile. If you haven’t set up your BankMobile account, do it now so you can get your money faster!

Remember to stay safe out there and don’t forget about Super Saturday on July 31st!
