Press Release from Brittany Weisensale

Panama City, FL– Gulf Coast State College Athletics Department proudly announces the addition of women’s cross-country to its program, set to launch in the Fall 2024 semester.

The decision to incorporate women’s cross-country aligns with Gulf Coast State College’s ongoing commitment to providing diverse opportunities for student-athletes. This milestone marks the first expansion of our athletics program since the introduction of volleyball in 1998.

“We’re excited to integrate women’s cross-country into our athletics,” said Mike Kandler, GCSC Athletics Director. “This addition is just an example of our dedication to offering a well-rounded collegiate experience for our students and student-athletes.”

Recruitment efforts for the inaugural team are underway, and more information will be provided at a later date for student-athletes interested in joining. The College looks forward to the positive impact the women’s cross-country team will bring to both the athletic program and the broader campus community.
