Have you ever had something happen to you that would forever change the way you move through life? Now, suppose that event was so fantastically idiotic that you couldn’t even be mad about it. Well, such an incident happened to me!

Let me start off my story by saying that I am well aware that McDonald’s is not the best choice for food, but it was one of those days.

I had spent all morning running around town doing errands, and decided to grab something quick for my daughter and myself to eat. I came upon a McDonald’s and ordered a two-for-five fish and burger. I got home and offered my daughter her choice, which was the hamburger, so everything was set. I went about putting up the groceries I had grabbed earlier, and did a few other random things so I could sit down, relax, and eat.

As I removed my fish sandwich from the box, mouth watering because I am so ready to eat this food, something didn’t feel quite right. Opening the bun, I discovered there was no meat! Just a bun with a big glob of tartar sauce in the center. The tartar sauce was in a perfect circle, I might add.

As I stared unbelievably at this meat-less sandwich in my hand, I involuntarily released an uproarious laughter. This blooper had to be the stupidest fast food error ever! I couldn’t help but to speculate on the why and how of the situation.

Is the restaurant low on meat and trying to make it stretch through the night?

Are they skipping the meat on every fourth customer?

Did the cook think the customer wouldn’t notice that the meat sandwich they ordered had no meat?

Did the cool think the customer would just eat it anyway, like some cold fries?

Suffice to say, these thoughts made the situation even more hilarious to me.

When I drove back to the restaurant for a replacement, (yes, I still wanted that fish sandwich!) I couldn’t even be mad. I did, however, ask the staff those burning questions that were racing through my mind. This, of course, caused roaring laughter throughout the store.

I still purchase fish sandwiches from McDonald’s regularly. The habit, however, is to open the bun and make sure I have meat there first!
