Press Release from Elizabeth Humphries
Panama City, FL – Gulf Coast State College’s (GCSC) TRiO department is hosting a FAFSA event this Saturday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (CST) to help current and prospective students submit their 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). The event will take place at the first floor of GCSC’s Student Union West building.
The FAFSA is a critical step to accessing financial aid for higher education. The National College Attainment Network estimates only 28.5% of Florida’s 2026 high school senior class has submitted a FAFSA. The TRiO team will offer one-on-one assistance to simplify the FAFSA process, answer questions, and ensure applications are completed accurately.
This Saturday’s event is one of many ways TRiO strives to provide low-income, first-generation, or disabled individuals from Bay, Gulf, and Franklin counties with impactful services designed to motivate them toward the successful attainment of a post-secondary credential.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026
- Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (CST)
- Location: TRiO Office, First Floor, Student Union West, Gulf Coast State College’s Panama City Campus
Note – TRiO’s program costs are 100% financed by federal money. Please visit www.gulfcoast.edu/trio for further disclosures and information.
