Lights Camera Action!
Music’s biggest night of the year is almost upon us! The Recording Academy’s Grammy Awards are airing on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025. This year’s awards are STAR STUDDED with musical prowess from the last year! However, with the excitement that comes from this night also comes nervousness as fans across the globe gather to see who will win the biggest award of the night: Album of the Year. This year has 8 nominees who have rocked our worlds in 2024. Check out the following list to see who I think WILL win versus who I think SHOULD win this amazing title on the main stage!
André 3000 - 'New Blue Sun'
Beyoncé - 'Cowboy Carter'
Billie Eilish - 'HIT ME HARD AND SOFT'
Chappell Roan - 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess'
Charli XCX - 'BRAT'
Jacob Collier - 'Djesse Vol. 4'
Sabrina Carpenter - 'Short n' Sweet'
Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'
And the Grammy goes to...
Now, as to who I think SHOULD win, the answer is clear. Charli XCX’s ‘BRAT’ made waves that I have never seen before with a project. The electronic sounds of the album take old references and bring them into a new inventive light. However, I don’t think she will win the award because the Recording Academy doesn’t find too much value in cultural impact. They view commercial success as the biggest factor in their decision-making.
Tune in this Sunday, February 2nd at 7 PM CST on CBS to see who will take home the Album of the Year crown!
