Time and money, if you’re a college student these are two things that you probably lack. With the many demands that come along with a full class schedule, a traditional job may be difficult to maintain. On the other hand, without a job the financial burdens of college may be too much for you to handle. So where do you find the middle ground? Side hustles offer opportunities for making income on your own terms. Through modern technology, side-hustles are more accessible now than ever before. Here are some of today’s best side hustles for college students.

Transportation Based Side Hustles:

If you have a car and a smartphone, you already have all the necessary tools for making easy money.  With apps such as Lyft, Uber, Doordash, and PostMates dominating the app store, transportation-based side hustles are all the rage. One of the major appeals of this style job is the ability to work whenever you want. Have a gap in between classes? Make a few deliveries! Finish your homework early? Drive a few people with uber!

Babysitting:

This classic side-hustle isn’t just for middle schoolers, in fact, now that you’re college age you’re all the more reliable. The great thing about babysitting is that the hours are usually on weekends, therefore, it won’t interfere with your school life. If you don’t know where to start your babysitting career get connected to a local agency or try looking online. Apps such as Care.com or Sittercity are very popular for connecting caregivers to local clients.

On Campus Employment:

Did you know that you could work at your college? This is especially helpful if you live on campus and don’t want to worry about commuting. When it comes to balancing work, studying, homework, and classes on campus jobs are perhaps the most flexible. Find what you’re good at whether it’s assisting, tutoring, or administration and inquire from there!
