The PlayStation 5 just released, and college students everywhere are looking for a way to get their hands on it. But the big question plaguing college students is what game to pair with the new console. Don’t worry, I’m here to describe some of the PlayStation launch titles. So that once you finally pick it up you have a selection of games to choose from.

Demon’s Souls:

Unlike the other PlayStation launch titles, Demon’s Souls is actually a remaster of a previous PlayStation exclusive game. Created by FromSoftware, the original was a PlayStation 3 game and is the predecessor to the Dark Souls series. Which is one of the most influential series in recent years, proving that there is an interest in difficult games. The remaster, however, is not created by FromSoftware, instead, it’s been given to Bluepoint games, who are known for creating exceptional remasters of classic games. It’s safe to say, if you’re looking for a challenge and want to see the best graphics the gaming industry has to offer, Demon’s Souls is the top pick.

Spider-Man Miles Morales:

If your looking for a more familiar story to ease your way into gaming on the PlayStation 5, Spider-Man Miles Morales is for you. As you can probably guess by the title, this game is about the character Miles Morales and his journey with coming to terms with being Spider-Man.

You can quickly get into the game, the low skill-ceiling, and familiarity to the previous game make it accessible to anyone who owned a PS4.  The sheer showmanship on display from all the character’s animations gives life to the game and can allow people who aren’t normally into video games something to ogle at while viewing it or even trying it themselves. If you’re wanting a game that can help gateway your entry into PlayStation gaming, there won’t be a better option.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War:

The newest installment in the Call of Duty franchise. This game will be instantly familiar to anyone who’s played a first person shooter.

Despite the familiarity, there are new additions that showcase the new capabilities of the PlayStation 5.  The triggers having resistance based on which weapons are being used is a great example. This Call of Duty is a great game for anyone looking to spend time online or playing with friends. You can do things like play on a split screen with another friend. Or, with the same friend go online and play different game modes, such as the famous zombies and multiplayer. I hope this showcase of launch titles helps you select what game you’ll buy once you get the PlayStation 5.
