Star Wars Battlefront II Multiplayer has hit major news all throughout the world with their loot crate controversy. This has indirectly cause countries to look into the recently accepted way of getting extra loot to gain an advantage in game. The way most loot crates work in game is that you would spend real money to obtain in game currency that is required to purchase loot crates. These loot crates have a percentage of drop rate that will run when you open the box. Usually there is an animation and then it will show you what item you get in game. They will typically have a rarity rating from high to low. The majority of the time it’s just like sitting in front of a slot machine and hoping you get what you want with no promise of you actually getting the reward. Because EA was so greedy that they wanted you to buy crates to “get better” at the game its opened up a whole new mess. Now some people thinks that this is great as the company has now made it known to the world how dangerous this form of gambling can be. Granted the United States doesn’t believe this is true gambling as you still are rewarded with some form of item opposed to nothing at all. The UK is also in agreement with their rules that it doesn’t go against their laws. Belgium on the other end is very open about looking into the matter as there are cases where people have a serious problem with going into debt because of these online loot crate systems. With all this being so there is speculation on if EA had a choice to remove their currency purchasing system.  There is thought to believe that Disney had a big role in the matter as the announcement was very rushed and was not written all too well. Since Disney now owns the Star Wars name some believe that EA had the hard choice of to make this right fast or to never do a Star Wars title again. Even with these elements taken out of the game the damage was done and most people still are hating on the game as they think this Is still occurring. Many people have not even touched the game and have jumped on the bandwagon of hating the game for just this reason. Granted this game had a lot to live up to as the first remake was a disaster according to gamers who only played the second Star Wars Battlefront and onwards.
