Press Release from Elizabeth Humphries
Panama City, FL – WKGC Public Media, the broadcast service of Gulf Coast State College (GCSC), is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new programming schedule beginning Monday, September 29th. The refresh follows recent internal changes, opening the door for exciting new ideas, voices, and energy across the station’s lineup.
“We saw an opportunity to redefine our sound and bring a renewed sense of connection and excitement to our listeners,” said Ryan L. Terry, General Manager of WKGC. “This new schedule is about embracing innovation while staying true to our core mission of providing the best in education, entertainment, and public service to the Gulf Coast community.”
The biggest change listeners will experience is the all-new morning drive-time show, The Morning Cast. This is your new destination for weekday mornings, airing from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Tune in for a dynamic blend of news, local insights, and music to kickstart your day.
In addition to the new flagship morning show, the station is leaning into its academic roots by showcasing emerging talent with Student DJs. WKGC is dedicated to giving a platform to the next generation of broadcasters. Gulf Coast State College students will be taking over the airwaves, DJing throughout the week, and bringing fresh perspectives and music to the schedule.
WKGC Public Media invites all current and future listeners to tune in at 90.7 FM or stream online at www.WKGC.org to discover the new sounds of the station.
