College is not easy. Life is not easy. And relationships? Most definitely are not easy.
If we’re being honest, the only thing that ever feels easy is quitting and walking away when life gets too hard. But if you’ve been following my writing, we have talked about building a solid relationship with God and building your faith, to be your guiding factor throughout college. These tools will be helpful to you when the hard times come because life guarantees that we will all experience highs and lows in our lifetime, and It’s no secret that the most rewarding things in life require hard work, discipline, and a lot of perseverance. Your faith journey is no different. So, if I could leave you with one final piece of advice, it would be this: Trust the process.
When things get hard and life becomes more challenging, that might be the clearest sign that life is unfolding exactly how it should. If only you push through. One day, you’ll look back and see the purpose in every painful step.
According to Psychiatry.com, generalized anxiety disorder is characterized by persistent and excessive worry that interferes with daily life. That’s not just a psychological issue, but it’s a spiritual one as well. It’s no coincidence that one of the most repeated commands in Scripture is Do not worry. Again, this is not an easy task. Pushing forward after disappointment, heartbreak or a breakdown may seem impossible at that moment, but it is the ultimate measuring factor of your faith.

Remember, God is not a genie, so even if you do everything right, it does not mean it will always go your way, and in the moments it doesn’t, will you still trust his plan for you? Will you take heed of his guidance? Every challenge is an opportunity to change your perspective. His redirection could very well be protection for your life.
In the moments when you choose to trust him and worry less about the things, you have zero control over. This is where faith is forged, and the more you concede, the easier it will become.
Trust God. Trust his process.
Especially when it is hard.
